About Me

Christina C. Benson, J.D., M.B.A., Associate Professor of Business Law and Ethics, received a bachelor’s degree with distinction in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Juris Doctorate with Honors from the UNC School of Law and an M.B.A. in International Business from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill.   

Prior to joining the Elon University faculty in Spring 2007, she practiced law for 10 years in the Washington D.C. offices of several major international law firms (including White & Case LLP, Hunton & Williams LLP and Arent Fox PLLC), where she specialized in International Trade Regulation, Import-Export Compliance, Cross-border Business Transactions, and International Dispute Settlement.  Benson also served in the Rules Division of the World Trade Organization Secretariat (WTO) in Geneva, and has advised numerous foreign government ministries in their free trade agreement negotiations with the United States.  Her research interests include international trade and commerce, import-export compliance, economic development, international dispute resolution, corporate social responsibility, sustainable business initiatives, business ethics, World Trade Organization, and regional free trade and investment agreements.
