Seeing Net Neutrality coming through makes me think back to John Oliver's Last Week Tonight episode that brought major attention to the issue. I wonder how much of an effect it had in the ruling, ultimately.

Good question! The Christian Science Monitor put out an article yesterday that asks the same thing.

I for one didn't know anything about the FCC's call for comments until Oliver put it on his show. I remember the load being so high on the call for comments page that it crashed for a good while.

The Verge got access to some internal employee emails through the Freedom of Information act that contain employee reactions of the Oliver ordeal.

Have you seen Verizon's press release following the vote? I thought it was a pretty amusing PR stunt: "Title II Regulations a ‘Net’ Loss for Innovation and Consumers FCC’s ‘Throwback Thursday’ Move Imposes 1930s Rules on the Internet"
