                                               Call for Submissions

The Howard Human & Civil Rights Law Review (“HCR”) invites article submissions for Volume VIII.  Formerly known as the “Howard Scroll,” HCR has published cogent legal scholarship in the areas of civil rights, human rights, and international law since 1993.  We welcome submissions from law professors, practitioners, recent graduates, and other scholars.  Accepted articles will be published in Spring 2024.

We strongly prefer submissions that are 25,000 words or less and in Microsoft Word format (.docx).  In addition, all text must be justified and double-spaced in 12-pt size Times New Roman font, and all sentences must have two spaces after each period.  Further, all text and citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020).  Lastly, please use footnotes rather than endnotes.

To be considered, please submit your article (1) to Scholastica,[1] (2) by email,[2] or (3) by mail.[3]  Your curriculum vitae should be included with your submission.  Please be aware that our preferred deadline for submissions is November 1, 2023.[4]  After this deadline, we will accept submissions on a rolling basis only until the issue is filled.

Best,
Xavier Richie
