Call for Submissions: Southwestern Law School Symposium

Southwestern Journal of International Law will host its upcoming symposium, “The Permanent Exception: International Law and the Global War on Terror at 25,” on January 29, 2027. The symposium will examine the enduring legal, political, and institutional consequences of the Global War on Terror twenty-five years after 9/11. We are currently accepting abstracts from scholars, practitioners, journalists, policymakers, and interdisciplinary researchers worldwide. Abstracts and CVs are due September 15, 2026. Please send abstracts (300-500 words), CVs, and inquiries to lawjournal@swlaw.edu with the subject line "GWOT Symposium." Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special symposium issue, and up to eight selected authors will receive funding for reasonable travel and accommodation expenses to participate in the symposium in Los Angeles.
