Call for Submissions
The Women’s Rights Law Reporter is now accepting submissions for its upcoming issues, scheduled for publication during the 2026–2027 academic year. We have limited publication slots available and welcome original legal scholarship that advances gender equity and meaningfully contributes to legal doctrine, policy, and public discourse.
The Women’s Rights Law Reporter is a semi-annual journal of legal scholarship and feminist criticism published by students at Rutgers School of Law in Newark. Founded in 1970 by Ann Marie Boylan, who independently published the first volume from her New York City apartment, the Reporter moved to Rutgers in 1972 through the tireless efforts of Elizabeth Langer and became formally affiliated with the law school in 1974. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg served as the Reporter’s first faculty advisor. Today, the Women’s Rights Law Reporter is the oldest legal periodical in the United States focusing exclusively on the field of women’s rights law.
The Reporter examines legislative developments, significant federal and state court cases, judicial doctrines, litigation strategies, and the lives and careers of prominent women jurists. We also publish scholarship addressing the legal profession and other areas of law and public policy relating to women’s rights.
We invite submissions from legal scholars, including professors, judges, practicing attorneys, policymakers, and advocates. We particularly welcome scholarship that engages with emerging legal questions affecting women and other marginalized communities and that offers meaningful contributions to feminist legal scholarship, doctrine, policy, or advocacy.
Articles written by current law students or recent graduates will not be considered for publication.
