Call For Submissions: University of Hawaiʻi Law Review, Volume 49

The University of Hawaiʻi Law Review is currently accepting submissions for its upcoming Volume 49, which will be published across two issues in the 2026-2027 academic year. Advancing legal scholarship in Hawaiʻi, the Pacific, and beyond, the University of Hawaiʻi Law Review contributes to the national discourse on emerging legal issues. The priority deadline is May 22, 2026, but we strongly encourage authors to submit their manuscripts as soon as possible. A limited number of offers are available and will be extended on a rolling basis.  

Preference will be given to manuscripts related to:

  • Native Hawaiian and Indigenous Peoples;
  • Civil & Human Rights;
  • Environment, Energy, & Resources; and
  • Immigration & Out-Migration.

Forms of Submission 

Authors may submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) via the following methods:

The University of Hawaiʻi Law Review prefers electronic submission of manuscripts through Scholastica. Alternatively, authors may email their submissions to uhlrpub@hawaii.edu or submit their article through the linked Google Form: https://forms.gle/uZz9BjMkhQHx8req9

If you choose to submit your Article via email, please note that you must include: 

◆ A short abstract (less than 200 words), 

◆ A current CV, and 

◆ A cover letter (please include your name, address, telephone number, and email address in your cover letter).
