The University of Miami Law Review is pleased to announce a new Exclusive Submission Track for Issue 3 of Volume 81, to be published in the Spring of 2027.
Beginning on Monday, August 3, 2026, authors will have the opportunity to participate in the Exclusive Submission Track by submitting their manuscript, curriculum vitae (CV), and cover letter directly to our Senior Articles Editor, Megan Schutzen, at UMLRSeniorArticlesEditor@law.miami.edu.
The Exclusive Submission Track offers authors a guaranteed publication decision within seven (7) calendar days of submission. Participation in the Exclusive Submission Track does not require authors to withdraw or refrain from submitting their manuscript to other journals. However, by electing to participate in the Exclusive Submission Track, authors agree that if the University of Miami Law Review extends an offer of publication during the seven-day review period, they will accept the offer and publish their manuscript with the Law Review.
The Exclusive Submission Track will be open Monday, August 3, 2026, through Friday, August 7, 2026. The general, non-exclusive submission period for Issue 3 will open on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The University of Miami Law Review welcomes submissions of both articles and essays that represent the author's original work. While we do not adhere to a strict word limit, preference will be given to articles under 30,000 words and essays under 12,000 words, including footnotes. We will continue to consider articles exceeding 30,000 words when their length is warranted.
All submissions should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (22d ed. 2025). In general, the University of Miami Law Review follows The Redbook: A Manual on Legal Style (2d ed. 2006) for grammar, style, and usage. We prefer submissions in Microsoft Word format but will also accept PDF submissions.
Submissions should be in Times New Roman, no smaller than 12-point font, should utilize footnotes rather than endnotes, and should include numbered pages. All submissions must include: (1) a cover letter, (2) a brief abstract, (3) a copy of the manuscript, and (4) the author's most recent résumé or curriculum vitae (CV).
