The Journal of Gender, Race & Justice is accepting submissions for publication in Volume 30, Issue 1 (2026).
The Journal explores how we are classified, stratified, ignored, and singled out under the law because of our race, sex, gender, economic class, ability, and sexual identity. We challenge our writers, our readers, and ourselves to question who we are and how the law defines us, and how these definitions affect our ability to attain justice.
The Journal prefers articles with a word count of 20,000 to 30,000 words, including footnotes. We also consider some shorter essays of ~10,000 words.
If you are interested in publication in the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice, please submit manuscripts and CVs via Scholastica or by email to Senior Articles Editor Caroline Scott at caroline-e-scott@uiowa.edu.
