The Northwestern Law Journal des Refusés (NLJR) is seeking submissions for our upcoming issue! NLJR is committed to diversity and accessibility in authorship, content, and form. We're interested in publishing a wide variety of pieces, from traditional legal scholarship on non-traditional topics to more personal essays relating to the legal system to visual art or screenplays. With an eye towards accessibility to the public, interdisciplinary and intersectional academic inquiry, and thought diversity in all forms, NLJR seeks to capture the authentic relationship between the letter of the law and the ways in which it governs in practice.

NLJR has no formal length or citation requirements — we ask for and encourage stylistic creativity. Please feel free to submit any sort of written or artistic piece, including short and long essays, poems, creative writing, artwork, etc.
