Hello!

The Howard Human & Civil Rights Law Review is currently accepting admissions for Volume XI of our publication.

We must acknowledge the times that we are living in. Daily, and across the globe, human and civil rights are being challenged and stripped away. Our mission of being at the forefront and on the pulse of all issues related to human and civil rights leads us to this call: we are looking for submissions that are focused on the meaning of “liberty and justice”: not only from the American or westernized perspective, but globally. We welcome submissions outside of these areas as well.

We strongly prefer submissions that are 25,000 words or less and in Microsoft Word format (.docx). In addition, all text must be justified and double-spaced in 12-pt size Times New Roman font. Further, all text and citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (22nd ed. 2025). Lastly, please use footnotes rather than endnotes.

Please email hcrsolicitationseditor@howard.edu with any additional questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Yemi Ikotun
