Dear members of the legal community,

The NYU Law Review is pleased to begin planning its annual symposium for the 2026-2027 academic year. Each year, the Law Review collaborates with a leading center or institute to convene scholars and practitioners for a discussion on emerging developments and evolving norms in the law. To that end, we request your proposals for the Law Review’s 2026-2027 symposium.

Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis. The symposium typically takes place in the fall, though we welcome proposals for either a fall 2026 or winter/spring 2027 event. While the symposium may address any legal matter, we aim to choose a topical and provocative subject that amplifies diverse voices from both the legal and nonlegal community. For the coming symposium, we are most interested in proposals addressing emerging questions for due process, immigration law, or climate and energy law. This list is not exhaustive, however, and we are excited to receive proposals in any topic area.

We anticipate collaborators will help organize the event in partnership with the Law Review, and the Law Review will publish selected pieces from the symposium. For planning purposes, proposals should include:

(1) a detailed description of the topic,

(2) themes for panel discussions,

(3) a list of potential participants,

(4) a faculty advisor,

(5) ideas for interactive audience engagement, and

(6) an overview of your available budget for this event.

Please submit your proposals to Alessandra Gianino, the Managing Editor of Operations (amg859@nyu.edu), by Friday, March 20th, 2026. To facilitate transparency in the submission and selection process, Alessandra will host an office hours session from 10-12pm on Friday, February 27, 2026, on Zoom (please reach out to Alessandra for the link to the Zoom). Following the deadline, our team may set up interviews in late March to discuss proposals in further detail.

Thank you for your participation in and support of this endeavor! With your collaboration, we are certain we can produce an outstanding and engaging event.
