The Ocean and Coastal Law Journal is excited to begin reviewing articles for Volume 30, Issues 1 and 2, for publication for Fall 2024 or later. The Ocean and Coastal Law Journal is an academic legal journal based out of the University of Maine School of Law with a focus on legal issues related to domestic and international use, management, and conservation of the sea and seashores.

As a celebration of the thirtieth volume of the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal, articles related to the coastal waters and shorelines of Maine and New England will receive special consideration for Issue 1. Articles featuring discussion of environmental justice and the impact of ocean and coastal law concerns on underrepresented communities will receive special consideration for Issue 2. We will give due review and consideration to all articles we receive.

To be considered for publication, please send the document in Word Document format to OCLJeditor@maine.edu or submit via Scholastica by June 30, 2024 for consideration for inclusion in Issue 1. Footnote citations should follow The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (Columbia L. Rev. Ass'n et al. eds., 21st ed. 2020). Please also submit a current resumé or CV with your article. If articles are originally written in a language other than English, both the article and the footnotes should be translated before submission. All articles will be considered on a rolling basis.
