About Me

Filip Novaković was born on May 20, 1999, in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to parents Zoran Novaković and Bosiljka Novaković (née Važić).

After successfully completing his high school education, Filip Novaković embarked on his academic journey by enrolling in the foundational law program at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka. His commitment to academic excellence and involvement in student life quickly became evident as he became an active member of the Student Union of the Faculty of Law, the official representative body of law students at the university. Filip's dedication and leadership skills led him to serve as the student vice-dean for the 2019/20 term. Additionally, he was appointed as a student member of the Scientific and Teaching Council of the Faculty of Law for two consecutive terms (2020/21 and 2021/22) through re-election.

Filip Novaković's educational journey culminated in his graduation from the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka, on September 15, 2022. His academic accomplishments were further recognized when, on the Day of the Faculty of Law, February 6, 2023, he was awarded the Silver Plaque by the Faculty of Law, University of Banja Luka. Filip's academic achievements extend beyond his undergraduate studies. He was honored with the UNESCO International Chair in Bioethics 2022 award for a distinguished scientific article.

On September 19, 2023, Filip successfully defended his master thesis during his LL.M. studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo, specializing in the narrow scientific field of Criminal Law. His thesis, titled "The principle of immediacy in the implementation and evaluation of evidence," was developed under the guidance of Professor Emeritus Dr. Sci. Hajrija Sijerčić-Čolić, and earned him the title of Master of Laws. He is currently a master's student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka in International Law, as well as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica in Criminal Law.

Beyond his academic endeavors, Filip is a prolific contributor to the field of law, having authored a three book and published over 30 scientific and professional papers in reputable international and domestic journals.

Filip Novaković's multifaceted interests extend to his passion for animal welfare, where he has been actively involved in pigeon breeding, rabbit breeding, poultry farming, and bird breeding for over a decade. He is a dedicated member of the Association of Small Animal Breeders "Zov" from Čelarevo and the Sports Society for the Breeding and Protection of Small Animals "Kozarski Odgajivač" from Bosanska Gradiška. In his leisure time, Filip explores paleontology, with a focus on paleozoology and paleobotany, alongside his interests in zoology, literature, and painting.

Additionally, Filip is affiliated with several professional associations and domestic and international non-governmental organizations, including the Association of Lawyers of the Republika Srpska, Moot Court Club "ABEA" Banja Luka, Organization "East West Bridge in B&H," The Paleontological Society, Victimology Society of Serbia, and more.

From January 2024, Filip is a corresponding member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian-American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Filip Novaković's academic achievements, dedication to animal welfare, and diverse interests reflect a dynamic individual committed to making a significant contribution to both the academic and broader community.
