I am a designer and creative technologist focused on developing digital tools that support visual storytelling, analog photography, and structured data management. My work sits at the crossroads of user-centered design, photographic documentation, and metadata systems, where usability meets precision. As the creator of Frames, a field notes app for analog photographers, I aim to enrich creative workflows by combining the tactile experience of film with the organizational clarity of digital tools.
Frames was conceptualized as a research-driven solution to a practical problem: the lack of reliable, elegant tools for logging photographic metadata during analog shoots. The app enables users to record exposure settings, film stock, lens data, timestamps, GPS coordinates, and contextual notes; all per individual frame. It supports long-form photographic projects, archival practices, and research-based workflows in visual arts, ethnography, and historical documentation.
My design philosophy emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and a balance between technical depth and ease of use. In all my projects, I pursue thoughtful design that anticipates the user's needs and respects the creative process. I also draw on principles from information architecture and interaction design to create interfaces that feel intuitive but remain powerful under the surface.
Beyond app development, I maintain a steady practice in analog photography, using film as both a medium of expression and a subject of inquiry. My work explores the role of metadata in memory, authorship, and photographic narrative. I am particularly interested in how structured data can augment analog practices without compromising their essence.
On Scholastica, I am here to contribute to conversations around creative research tools, interface design for the arts, and the evolving relationships between analog and digital media. If your research touches photography, UX, or visual methodologies, I’d be happy to connect.
