About Me
Andrew Kofi Annan, Esq. is a distinguished Ghanaian legal professional, scholar, and PhD candidate in Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Law. Blending rigorous academic research with dynamic courtroom experience, he has established himself as a rising authority on corporate governance, digital-age constitutional law, and commercial litigation in Ghana. Annan’s academic footprint is deeply rooted in the KNUST Faculty of Law, where he completed his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees before advancing to doctoral studies. As a PhD candidate, his work bridges advanced legal theory with practical systemic reforms, analyzing constitutional safeguards and regulatory frameworks in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has contributed critical research to contemporary legal debates, including papers on the "privacy-expression paradox" under Ghana's 1992 Constitution, evaluating how data protection acts intersect with accountability and investigative journalism. He also authored groundbreaking research titled 'Virtual Hearing the New Paradigm in International Arbitration: Is Ghana Prepared to Adopt the Practice Post Covid?', which he premiered at the inaugural KNUST Faculty of Law International Conference on Law, Science, and Technology. Beyond his academic pursuits, Annan is an active and highly regarded legal practitioner, bringing frontline litigation insights back into university lecture halls. He serves as an Associate and Legal Consultant at the prestigious law firm Minkah-Premo & Partners, where he specializes in Intellectual Property Law, Company Law, Commercial Law Practice, and Oil and Gas Law. As a luminary commentator, he frequently publishes expert insights on platforms like 233Legal and The Law Platform, providing sharp legal critiques on Supreme Court precedents, judicial appointment processes, and estate law exceptions. Committed to raising the next generation of African jurists, Annan has shared his expertise directly with students by serving as a Teaching Assistant at both the KNUST Faculty of Law and Central University.
