The Australian National University Journal of Law and Technology (‘ANU JOLT’) is one of Australia’s leading and most renowned academic peer-reviewed law journals that publishes high-quality works in the intersection of law and technology.
The ANU JOLT will publish one issue in 2023. In the past, we have published two issues per year.
We encourage submissions on a rolling basis from academics, researchers, industry professionals, and exceptional students from around the world. Submissions for this year will close on 15 October 2023, 11.59 pm AEST.
If you wish to publish with us, we request you to visit the For Authors tab on our website and carefully read the information on this page.
Please note, we only publish works that focus substantially on Australian laws or international/comparative laws (with a substantial Australian relationship). We, unfortunately, do not publish works that focus solely on domestic laws of any other jurisdiction.
The Journal also invites shorter submissions like book reviews and case notes, which could be published in our Journal or on our Academic Blog at https://anujolt.org/posts.
In addition to publishing, the ANU JOLT provides a platform and community for those enthusiastic about the intersection of law and technology. The Journal hosts insightful events, panel discussions, social collectives, career resources, and skills development programs.
The ANU JOLT was founded in 2019 by two enthusiastic former ANU law students Jacinta MacGinley and Aamina Sultanbawa. In 2023, it is led by Editors-in-Chief James Jackson and Daniel Marns. The Editorial Board also consists of Editors and General Officers from the Australian National University College of Law. Additionally, the ANU JOLT comprises a network of renowned academics from leading universities in Australia who serve as Editorial Advisors and form part of the blind peer-review system.
The ANU JOLT acknowledges and celebrates the Traditional Owners of the land where we live, learn and work–the Ngunnawal and the Ngambri Peoples–and pays our deep respects to the Elders past, present and emerging.
