Albany Law Review is now accepting submissions for its Justice Commentaries issue, a special interdisciplinary issue seeking to integrate legal scholarship with social science and policy perspectives. This year's theme is Retribution, Restoration, and Reform: Modernizing Juvenile Law.

Scholarship should explore the laws and procedures that have recently been created, modified, or

repealed by the federal and/or state governments. Examples of subjects include, but are not limited to (1) the intersection between race, socioeconomic status, gender, and juvenile delinquency; (2) the parents’ or family’s role in youth probation and prevention of juvenile delinquency; (3) the punishment and sentencing of juveniles/whether to try juveniles as adults; (4) the states or federal government’s role in deterring youth crimes; (5) the role labeling youth as “At-Risk” play in youth crime rates; (6) juvenile delinquency, treatment, and intervention, and diversion; (7) the intersection between Family Law, foster care, and juvenile delinquency.

If interested, please submit a curriculum vitae with your work. Manuscripts may be submitted through Scholastica, or directly to Albany Law Review at lawreview@albanylaw.edu. Specific questions may be directed to Leah O. Roth, Executive Editor for Justice Commentaries, at Lroth@albanylaw.edu. Formatting and citations should conform to Bluebook guidelines. Articles will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
