The Brooklyn Journal of Law and Policy is accepting article proposals for our first issue of Volume 35. We are a scholarly journal that focuses on progressive public policy issues and the promotion of social justice and equity, with an understanding of the underlying biases inherent in our legal system. Past issues have focused on education, disability, immigration, access to courts, the carceral system, and the legal theory.
We invite contributions from a wide array of writers and thinkers. As a core component of this mission, the Journal of Law and Policy seeks to include a variety of authorship, including but not limited to academics, practitioners, system-impacted individuals, organizers, and advocates from all areas of the law.
Suggested deadlines:
Outline/Abstract Deadline: June 28, 2026
First Draft Due: July 16, 2026
We are seeking articles and essays of ~10,000 words, and will review proposals and outlines on a rolling basis until June 28, 2026. A first draft would be due by July 16, 2026. Note, however, that we will consider contributions of all lengths.
