Dear Authors,

The California Western Law Review is accepting submissions for Volume 63, Issue 1, which will be published in Fall 2026. With a limited number of publication opportunities remaining, we invite timely and original works that make meaningful contributions to legal scholarship and engage thoughtfully with contemporary legal issues.

We welcome submissions from legal scholars and professionals, including professors, judges, practicing attorneys, policymakers, and advocates. The Journal considers articles across all areas of law, including works that offer doctrinal, policy, regulatory, or institutional analysis or examine emerging developments in the law.

Submission Guidelines

Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format with margins of at least one inch on all sides.

Length: The Journal publishes works of varying lengths and styles, including articles, essays, book reviews, and other shorter-form scholarship.

Style: Submissions should present timely, original, and substantive legal analysis rather than merely summarizing existing scholarship. Citations and additional explanatory material should appear in footnotes.

Citations: Citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, 22nd Edition.

Author Information: Please include a cover page containing the manuscript’s title, the author’s full name, academic or professional affiliation, abstract, and complete contact information. Authors should also include a current curriculum vitae or résumé with their submission.

Authors must disclose at the time of submission whether any portion of the manuscript has been published previously or is currently under consideration elsewhere.

Deadline: Please submit manuscripts by August 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts as early as possible.

Completed manuscripts may be submitted through Scholastica or by email to lawreview@cwsl.edu.

Please direct any questions regarding publication to lawreview@cwsl.edu or to the Editor-in-Chief, Logan Hannah, at Lghannah@law.cwsl.edu.

Thank you for your interest in publishing with the California Western Law Review

We look forward to reviewing your scholarship.
