Stetson Law Review is currently accepting article proposals for its 2026 Symposium Issue. While submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, the deadline to submit a proposal for consideration is September 26, 2025.

Stetson Law Review’s 2026 Symposium will take place on March 6, 2026, in conjunction with the 47th Annual National Conference on Law & Higher Education in Clearwater Beach, Florida. As recent federal, state, and judicial action have challenged the status quo in higher education, colleges and universities alike must reexamine, and in some cases redefine, the legal and policy frameworks within the higher education context. This Symposium will provide an opportunity for legal scholars, higher education leaders, and policy experts from institutions across the country to evaluate the current and future state of higher education law and policy in colleges and universities.

Stetson Law Review invites authors to submit proposals that generally address contemporary issues in higher education law and policy or evaluate specific trends related to governmental, judicial, or executive action. Proposals selected for publication will appear in Volume 56 of Stetson Law Review

While submissions are not limited to the below, authors may propose topics related to:

  • First Amendment, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly on campus
  • Varsity Blues, Greek life scandals, and other investigations in higher education
  • The ramifications of governmental, executive, and judicial action on higher education law and policy
  • The impact of Title VII and anti-discrimination laws on higher education administration and admissions
  • Funding, grants, endowments, and institutional independence
  • The role of federalism related to state-sponsored college and university autonomy

Please submit the article proposal, which should be no more than 500 words, to Stetson Law Review’s Symposium & Scholarship Editor, Nick Colicci, at ncolicci@law.stetson.edu. Proposals should include a description of the thesis, whether the scholarship will be an article (15,000–25,000 words) or essay (8,000–14,000 words), and a potential title. All authors whose proposals are selected by Stetson Law Review are expected to attend the Symposium to present their scholarship.

For questions or requests for additional information, please contact Nick Colicci at ncolicci@law.stetson.edu.
