The Florida A&M University (FAMU) Law Review is accepting submissions for its Spring 2027 Symposium Edition!

The FAMU Law Review is a student-run organization at the FAMU College of Law. The FAMU Law Review will host its symposium on Labor and Employment Law as it relates to the shifting labor economy, exploring how changes in work, technology, regulation, and economic conditions are reshaping the rights and obligations of workers, employers, and policymakers. The symposium will tentatively take place on February 20, 2027. All authors who accept a publication offer should be available to travel to the FAMU College of Law campus in Orlando, Florida, that weekend to present their papers.

This symposium aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and professionals from various disciplines to discuss issues and potential solutions in Labor and Employment Law within the evolving labor economy. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, worker classification in the gig economy, labor protections for independent contractors, the impact of automation on employment, workplace discrimination and equity in evolving industries, unionization in modern workplaces, and the legal implications of workforce instability.

If you are submitting an abstract for consideration, please submit a 1,000-word maximum abstract to famu.lr.ae@gmail.com by June 14, 2026. Authors will be notified of decisions on abstracts by June 29, 2026. Final papers will be due by September 14, 2026. Articles should be between twenty and thirty pages, including footnotes, double-spaced, Times New Roman, and 12-point font. Citations should adhere to the Bluebook.

The symposium is set to take place on February 20, 2027. The FAMU Law Review Symposium Edition is scheduled to be published within several weeks after the symposium.
